1. SET THE VISION
Create a vision statement, or a manifesto designed explicitly by you and for you.
Know precisely what you want and how you see it. With this type of focus, you will be more adept at completing.
2. WRITE IT DOWN
Writing things down gives your words oxygen which creates life. If you write your goals down, you are making and building the momentum necessary to get things moving in a forward direction. Take this step a little further and put your goals where you can see them.
3. MAKE AN ACTION PLAN
This step is often missed in the process of goal setting. You get so focused on the outcome that you forget to plan all of the needed steps along the way. By writing out the individual steps and then crossing each one off as you complete them, you'll realize that you are making progress towards your ultimate goal.
4. SET A DEADLINE
You wrote your goals down; they aligned with your vision; now, provide them with a deadline. Again, be specific in your time frames and detailed in how you will achieve that deadline.
If you have many goals, don't hesitate to priotize which goal needs to be accomplished first.
6. AFFIRM YOUR GOALS
Speak positively about your goals declare that your goals are achievable.
Be purposeful in every decision you make. Does it align with your vision? Vision helps you achieve your goals!
Hold yourself accountable even if you have to usher in outside help like a life coach. Remember, goal setting is an ongoing activity, not just a means to an end. So build reminders to keep yourself on track and make regular time-slots to work on your goals.
9. STAY FOCUSED
Staying focused assists you in reaching your goal. You will be able to identify what is essential and or irrelevant. You will be willing to say "no" building when necessary and yes when appropriate. Your focused builds confidence and determination that you will get things done.
10. HAVE FAITH
Do your best and hand over the rest!
Turn your vision over to God.
Pray for guidance, ask HIm to show you the way, and listen for His direction.
