Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.Proverbs 27:1
You have probably heard the phrase "Tomorrow is not promised" or "Tomorrow is promised to no one."
This proverb was a warning from the wisest man who ever lived-King Soloman. He reminds us that it's foolish and presumptuous to consider the next day as some guarantee. Not to feel boastfully entitled. But to realize we know nothing about tomorrow.
It is ok to plan, set goals, and look forward to your future with hope and expectation. Not at the cost of overlooking the gift of this moment.
Knowing that the future is nothing we're entitled to can change how we see everything. If we truly understood that tomorrow is not guaranteed, perhaps we would start to appreciate the world and all its living things; be 100% present to every person in our lives, no longer hold grudges or anger but instead would love from the depths of our soul.
Take time today to notice the beauty all around you, breath in the air, listen to the birds, say thank you for everything. Decide today that you will forgive and choose love instead. Be 100% present to every person you speak to and appreciate all you have.
