"And He brought him outside and said, "Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you can number them." Then He said to him, So shall your offspring be."–Genesis 15:5

Sometimes we enter seasons of waiting, where our situation seems like it's showing no signs of progress and no indication of anything happening. In this waiting time, it is easy to get discouraged.

Abraham was in the season of waiting. Finally, the Lord came to Him, promising him a son and descendants as numerous as the stars. Yet nothing happened. Abrahams wife Sarah doubted they could have a son and decided to take matters into her own hands.

Even when Abraham and Sarah doubted, even when they gave up and took matters into their own hands, God still followed through with His promise.

Have you ever let the uncertainty of your circumstances deplete your trust in God? Are you getting frustrated with the waiting, so you took matters into your own hands?

It's hard when you feel like you have prayed or have been called to do something, and it's taken longer than you expected. But God is still working in the "waiting."

It's in the waiting that roots are growing deep, that our hearts are being restored, and that faith is being put into practice.

I will be with you. I will protect you. I will be your strength. I will answer you. I will provide for you. I will give you peace. I will always love you. What would happen if you trusted and believed these promises?
